A Letter to Mothers
Written by our local psychic Sharon-Lee Kaplan
Dear Mom
Today is a special day for me – it’s a day I travel down memory lane and remember most dearest to me; it’s the day I choose to celebrate my mother.
Even when I was a little girl, you were always there. Not a moment went by that you did not notice me and my accomplishments/achievements.
You were there to wipe away my tears, to scoop me in your arms and hug me tight, to celebrate my joys with a smile.
What a delight to be rewarded with a surprise, learning to walk through life and always knowing I was not alone.
It was you that encouraged me never to give up, and it was you that looked into my eyes and recognized my growing years.
It was you who watched me leave with eyes blinded by tears, and it was you that shouted on top of your voice when I was awarded for my achievements.
It was you that never made commands and it was you that silently held me when things never worked quite as I had planned.
And now 50 years later, it is still you who applauds me for what I am, and it is because of you that I am.
So for today, may I sit before you and say Thank you –
For giving me life’s palette and for allowing me the freedom to colour my world in any colour I choose.
For never judging or complaining - for simply being you.
You are a mother – an honour, whom I serve a lifetime of celebration.
You deserve the best.
I salute your wisdom, courage and tenacity and sharing your lessons of life.
I love you
